We headed out north along the coast. Our first objective: find the Blow Hole (we also looked for coconut candy...which we found...it was delish)! The scenery along the way was absolutely breathtaking.
Throughout the drive, we spotted a ton of these little rock stacks. They were beautiful, and to see hundreds of them lining the cliffs was really quite a sight.
Okay, here's where things start to get interesting. At the top of the cliff, we found the "path" leading down to the water (thanks to Maui Revealed). Even from the top we could see the water being forced up through the blow hole. Once we got down to the bottom, Dan decided he wanted to get even closer (I decided to stay back and take the photos).
We met a great Canadian couple during our trip ~ here's Dan and Ian basking in the spray!
You can see in this photo that the blow hole is at the left. At first, everything was calm...people were even climbing along that ridge in the middle. Then, out of nowhere an enormous wave came in. In ended up knocking down one of the climbers, who had to be taken to the hospital for stitches.
